WEICON Brushable Liquid Zinc Paint

Overview

WEICON Brushable Liquid Zinc Paint is a metal pigment coating that actively and permanently protects metallic surfaces against corrosion. It uses a high concentration of pure spherical (round) zinc pigment, and the high zinc content ensures efficient cathodic corrosion protection; if the surface is damaged, the zinc reacts with air humidity to form zinc oxide, which protects the base material. It is used for repairs and coatings of frames, gates, doors, balustrades, poles, posts and machine parts, and WEICON states it meets the requirements of DIN EN ISO 1461. According to the data sheet the paint is zinc-grey and matt, with zinc pigment (D50 4 µm, about 98.5% purity), an epoxy resin ester binder and about 60.5% metal content in the dry film; the temperature resistance is about +400°C, the flash point 30°C, and the VOC content 500 g/l. The minimum layer thickness is 50 µm and the maximum per step 200 µm, consumption is about 120 ml/m2, it is cured after 10-12 hours with final strength after 48 hours. Surfaces should be cleaned and degreased with WEICON Cleaner Spray S (Surface Cleaner for sensitive non-metallic materials) and coated within one hour of pre-treatment; apply by brush or roller after stirring well, with spray-gun application possible using 10-20% universal dilution. Supplied in 375 ml, 750 ml and 2.5 L tins with a minimum shelf life of 12 months.
