Overview
XIAMETER PMX-200 Silicone Fluid 1,000 cSt is a 100% active, 1,000 cSt polydimethylsiloxane polymer (INCI name Dimethicone). Dow lists it as an active ingredient in automotive, furniture, metal and specialty polishes in paste, emulsion and solvent-based polishes and aerosols, and for applications including cosmetic ingredient, elastomer and plastics lubricant, electrical insulating fluid, foam preventive or breaker, mechanical fluid, mold release agent, surface active agent and leather finishing. Benefits include ease of application, rubout and buffing, high water repellency, high compressibility, high shearability without breakdown, low surface energy, good heat stability and essentially odorless, tasteless and nontoxic behavior. Typical properties from Dow: viscosity 1,000 centistokes, service temperature -40°C to +200°C, closed-cup flash point above 100°C, open-cup flash point above 326°C, silicone-only use temperature below 90°C; ready-to-use for non-aqueous systems and to-be-formulated for aqueous systems.
