Overview

XIAMETER PMX-200 Silicone Fluid 100 cSt is a 100% active, 100 cSt polydimethylsiloxane polymer (INCI name Dimethicone). Dow lists the same uses as the PMX-200 family: active ingredient in automotive, furniture, metal and specialty polishes, and applications including cosmetic ingredient, elastomer and plastics lubricant, electrical insulating fluid, foam preventive or breaker, mechanical fluid, mold release agent, surface active agent and leather finishing. Benefits include ease of application, rubout and buffing, high water repellency, high shearability without breakdown, low surface energy, good heat stability, low fire hazard and essentially odorless, tasteless and nontoxic behavior. Typical properties from Dow: viscosity 100 centistokes, specific gravity 0.964 at 25°C, refractive index 1.403, surface tension 20.9 mN/m (1% actives, 25°C), thermal conductivity 0.155 W/m·K, pour point -65°C, closed-cup flash point above 100°C, open-cup flash point above 326°C, silicone-only use temperature below 90°C.
