XIAMETER MEM-0346 Emulsion

Overview

XIAMETER MEM-0346 Emulsion is a 60% active silicone emulsion of a trimethylsilyl-terminated, medium-viscosity polydimethylsiloxane, recommended as a mold release for plastics and rubber. It is a ready-to-use non-ionic emulsion that provides gloss and water repellency, good wetting and slip characteristics, and imparts softening and lubrication to textiles; it is a general-purpose release agent including web release. Dow lists uses in car and furniture polish formulations, mold release of rubber or plastic parts (stoppers, screw tops, bungs), lubrication of extruded rubber parts and conveyor belts, and as a textile lubricant for yarn manufacture, sewing thread, hosiery, sewing needles and glass fabric exhaust filters. Typical properties from Dow: water-based, non-ionic and hydrophobic, pH 7 to 9.5, specific gravity 1 at 25°C, shelf life 360 days.
