n-Butyl Acetate 99.5%
Overview
n-Butyl acetate (CAS 123-86-4) is a colourless ester solvent with a fruity odour that evaporates more slowly than ethyl acetate, which helps flow and levelling in coatings. Typical published technical-grade specification: purity 99.5% min, colour 10 Pt-Co max, water 0.05% max and specific gravity about 0.878-0.883 at 20°C; limits and test methods vary by producer and lot. Typical physical data: boiling point about 126°C, flash point about 22-27°C. Typical uses include solvent and thinner for nitrocellulose, polyurethane and acrylic lacquers and coatings, inks, adhesives and extraction. It is flammable (UN 1123, Class 3) and may cause drowsiness; repeated exposure can dry or crack skin. Keep away from ignition sources, ground containers and ensure ventilation.
