Overview

3M Temflex Vinyl Electrical Tape 165 is a 6 mil (0.152 mm) thick vinyl insulating tape engineered for versatility in applications including cable jacket repair, harnessing and bundling cables, phase identification, wire fishing and mechanical protection on splices rated up to 600 V. It is ideal for light to moderate indoor and outdoor weather-protected conditions, with a temperature range of 19°F (-7°C) to 194°F (90°C) per CSA-C22.2 No. 197. Made from durable polyvinyl chloride (PVC), it is flame-retardant and cold-weather resistant, providing mechanical protection without unnecessary bulk, and can help reduce moisture ingress when used as an overwrap with a rubber splicing or mastic tape. It is UL 510 Listed, CSA Certified and RoHS compliant, uses a solventless adhesive and is manufactured without solvents or VOCs. It is available in black, blue, brown, gray, green, orange, red, purple, white and yellow. For best results apply in half-lapped layers with enough tension to narrow the tape to about 5/8 of its original width, and apply the final wrap without tension to help prevent flagging.
