Sodium Hypochlorite Solution 12.5%
Overview
Sodium hypochlorite (CAS 7681-52-9) 12.5% is a clear, yellow-green, strongly alkaline bleach solution with a chlorine odour. Typical published technical-grade specification: available chlorine about 11.9-12.6% (12.25% typical) by iodometric titration, free sodium hydroxide about 0.2-0.6%, specific gravity about 1.15-1.25 and low copper, iron and nickel (about 0.5-1 ppm max each); limits vary by producer and lot. Typical uses include disinfection and bleaching, drinking-water and wastewater treatment, swimming pools, textile and pulp bleaching, and cleaning formulations. It is corrosive (UN 1791, Class 8): causes severe skin burns and eye damage and is very toxic to aquatic life. It gradually loses strength with time, heat, light and metal contamination, so store cool, dark and in vented, compatible containers and check strength before use. Never mix with acids (releases toxic chlorine gas) or with ammonia or amine cleaners (toxic chloramines). Please request the producer certificate of analysis and SDS through the RFQ.
