Hydrogen Peroxide 50%
Overview
Hydrogen peroxide (CAS 7722-84-1) 50% is a clear, colourless, stabilised aqueous solution that is a strong oxidiser. Typical published specification for 50 wt% stabilised solutions: assay about 48-52% (49-51% on some sheets) H2O2 by permanganate titration, density about 1.197 g/mL at 20°C, pH about 1-4 and phosphate-type stabiliser (for example up to about 500 ppm phosphate); limits and stabiliser systems vary by producer and lot. Typical uses include pulp, paper and textile bleaching, water and wastewater oxidation and odour control, disinfection, metal and electronics etching, and chemical and peracid manufacture. It is an oxidiser and corrosive (UN 2014, Class 5.1 with subsidiary hazard 8): causes severe skin burns and eye damage and may intensify fire; it decomposes releasing oxygen, especially when contaminated by metals, rust, dust or organics or when heated. Store cool in vented containers made of compatible materials, away from combustibles and contaminants, and never return used material to the drum. Please request the producer certificate of analysis and SDS through the RFQ.
