Overview

XIAMETER AFE-0310 Antifoam Emulsion is a 30% active silicone emulsion designed to control foam in aqueous systems over wide pH ranges. Dow recommends it for industrial applications such as gas scrubbing (amine or carbonate), gas drying (glycol), pesticide manufacture and other crop protection products, in aqueous, chemical, oil and petroleum systems. Benefits listed include immediate defoaming action at low concentrations, long-lasting foam inhibition, high solid content and ease of dilution to the required concentration. Dow states it is not intended to be used in food or drug processing. Typical properties from Dow: non-ionic emulsion, 30% solids, pH 3 to 5.5, dynamic viscosity 3,000 centipoise, specific gravity 1, shelf life 360 days; knockdown low to medium, persistency low, effective at high pH, high temperature and low pH.
