Overview

3M Marine Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4000 UV is a tough, flexible, semi-permanent one-part marine sealant (a silane modified polymer type) for strong, sharp seals on RVs, boats and other watercraft. This medium-strength sealant bonds portholes, deck fittings, rub rails, screw holes and stanchion supports while still allowing disassembly, and is well suited to marine applications above and below the waterline. It has excellent UV resistance and is color stable, so it excels where exposed to the sun, and its flexible elastomeric bond maintains joint movement and withstands shock, vibration, swelling and shrinking. It forms a skin in 30-60 minutes, becomes tack-free in as little as 22 minutes, typically cures in as little as 24 hours, and can be painted over with water-based paints immediately after application or after curing. It applies directly from the container with no mixing, works on wood, glass, gelcoat, fiberglass and many metals and plastics, and is recommended for topside components such as hatches, portlights, metal hardware and thru-hull fittings. Available in cartridge, sausage pack and drum sizes in white and black.
