3M Fire Barrier Sealant IC 15WB+

Overview

3M Fire Barrier Sealant IC 15WB+ is a yellow, one-part, gun-grade, latex-based, intumescent firestop sealant engineered to form a monolithic seal after drying. It provides up to 3-hour fire protection in tested and listed systems, helping prevent the spread of fire, smoke and noxious gas, and acts as an acoustic barrier (STC rating of 54 when tested in an STC 54-rated wall assembly). It is firestop tested for through-penetration applications for up to 3 hours in accordance with ASTM E814 (UL 1479) and CAN/ULC-S115, and fire resistance tested for static construction joint systems in accordance with ASTM E1966 (UL 2079). It is water-based and cleans up with water, is paintable, re-enterable and repairable, halogen-free, sag-resistant with exceptional adhesion and an excellent caulk rate, and is applied with conventional caulking equipment. Typical uses are metallic and non-metallic pipes including CPVC, pipe and cable through-penetrations, and rated wall, floor and floor-ceiling assemblies; inspectors can recognise it by its distinctive yellow colour.
