WEICON Contact VA 2500 HT Cyanoacrylate Adhesive

Overview

WEICON Contact VA 2500 HT is a cyanoacrylate adhesive for special requirements: high-temperature-resistant, high viscosity, slow curing, with residual elasticity and high peel and impact strength. Because it cures with residual elasticity it is particularly suitable under changing climatic conditions, and it is insensitive even to prolonged exposure to humidity. It bonds the most diverse rubber materials and plastics, and metal/plastic joints, across many industrial areas. The ethyl-based, pale yellow transparent liquid has a viscosity of 2,000-3,000 mPa·s, a density of 1.1 g/cm3, gap bridging up to 0.2 mm and a processing temperature of +15°C to +40°C at 40-70% relative humidity. The data sheet gives initial adhesion of about 8 seconds on sandblasted aluminium, about 21 seconds on untreated ABS and about 104 seconds on rigid PVC, with final strength after 24 hours, shear strength of 15-24 MPa on sandblasted steel, a temperature resistance of -55°C to +140°C and complies with MIL-A-46050C Type II Class 3. Minimum shelf life is 9 months at room temperature (12 months at +2°C to +7°C).
