WEICON Contact VA 250 Black Cyanoacrylate Adhesive

Overview

WEICON Contact VA 250 Black is a cyanoacrylate adhesive for special requirements: rubber-filled, high-temperature-resistant, high viscosity, slow curing, with residual elasticity and high peel and impact strength. Because it cures with residual elasticity it is particularly suitable in changing climate conditions and is insensitive even to prolonged exposure to humidity. It is ideally suited to bonding diverse rubber materials such as solid or cellular rubber, plastics and metal/plastic joints in various fields of industry. The ethyl-based black liquid has a viscosity of 2,000-3,000 mPa·s, a density of 1.1 g/cm3, gap bridging up to 0.2 mm and a processing temperature of +15°C to +40°C at 40-70% relative humidity. The data sheet gives initial adhesion of about 40 seconds on sandblasted aluminium, about 28 seconds on untreated ABS and about 110 seconds on rigid PVC, final strength after 24 hours, shear strength of 10-24 MPa on sandblasted steel, a temperature resistance of -55°C to +140°C, and compliance with MIL-A-46050C Type II Class 3. Minimum shelf life is 9 months at room temperature (12 months at +2°C to +7°C).
