WEICON Threadlocking Varnish

Overview

WEICON Threadlocking Varnish is a water-based, non-hazardous lacquer for threadlocking, marking and sealing. It is free of organic solvents (VOC-free and HAP-free) and needs no hazard labelling. It adheres to almost all materials, has good resistance to liquids and chemicals, and is UV- and weather-resistant for at least 4 years (DIN EN ISO 2810). The marking lacquer is non-conductive and has good breaking properties. For a water-based system it dries quickly: dust-dry after about 10 minutes and fully cured after about 12 hours, with a temperature resistance of -80°C to +120°C. As a sealing lacquer it serves as a removable lock, prevents tampering, covers electrically conductive parts and protects against handling contamination; it allows visual inspection of all kinds of screw connections and documents quality assurance, production control and product testing through a lacquer seal. According to the data sheet it is matt, with a viscosity of 25,000 mPa·s, a density of 0.98 g/cm3, a processing temperature of 2°C to 40°C and a minimum shelf life of 24 months. It is applied evenly to screw heads, threads or other areas to be secured. Available in red (RAL 3000), yellow (RAL 1021) and green (RAL 6010), in 30 g and 60 g.
