Overview

3M Fire Barrier Water Tight Sealant 3000 WT is a ready-to-use intumescent, silicone elastomeric sealant. This gun-grade sealant cures on exposure to the atmosphere to form a monolithic, flexible firestop seal and, when properly installed, provides up to 4-hour fire protection in tested and listed systems. It is water-tight to help prevent the intrusion of moisture and is an ideal choice for CPVC piping. It is formulated to help prevent the spread of fire, smoke and noxious gas and to firestop joints and through penetrations through floor slabs, walls and other fire-rated building partitions and assemblies, including conduit, power and communication cables. It also acts as an acoustic barrier (STC rating of 53 when tested in an STC 54-rated wall assembly). The high-solids, halogen-free formula gives limited shrinkage, is sag-resistant with an excellent caulk rate (applied with conventional caulking equipment), dries to the touch in 30-60 minutes, can be painted, and is re-enterable and repairable.
