CRC Silicone Mold Release

Overview

CRC Silicone Mold Release is a general-purpose formula for fast and easy part removal from molds, with a medium-duty silicone content of 3.5%. CRC lists benefits of multiple part releases per application, suitability for cold and hot molds, a non-staining, non-corrosive and fast-drying film, and a wide effective temperature range: the specifications give a working temperature of 35°F to 600°F (1.7°C to 315.6°C). It is a clear, oily, colourless liquid that leaves a non-drying film, is listed as plastic safe, is dry fast on the mold surface and can be removed with organic solvents. The propellant is DME and HFC-152A. CRC lists applications in injection and compression moulding of ABS, acetal, acrylic, Noryl, nylon, polycarbonate, polystyrene, polysulfone and wax, and also in blow moulding, extruders, foundries and investment castings. Supplied as a 11.5 wt oz (16 oz can) aerosol, CRC part number 1003488 (item 03300).
