Permatex High Temperature Threadlocker Red

Overview

Permatex High-Temperature, High-Strength Threadlocker Red is ideal for heavy-duty applications and is well suited for permanently locking studs and press fits. It adds 3,000 PSI holding power on slip and press-fit assemblies, replaces set screws and snap rings, and locks against vibration loosening. Its high-temperature formulation is designed for high-performance applications that require extreme temperature resistance and is suited for temperatures up to 450°F (232°C). It prevents bolts and press fits from 3/8 to 1 1/2 in (10-38 mm) from loosening due to shock, severe vibration and heat stress, and may require heat or special tools for removal (removable with heat and hand tools). Permatex lists suggested applications including camshaft sprocket bolts, crankshaft bolts, idler bearings, press-fit filler plugs, transmission input and output shaft threads and ring gear or shock bolts. It is supplied in a 36 ml bottle (Permatex item 27240); 6 ml and 10 ml sizes are also listed.
