WEICON AL-W High-Performance Grease

Overview

WEICON AL-W is a special lubricant also suited to underwater applications. It offers effective protection against aggressive liquids such as sea or waste water, both in the maritime sector and in wet operations. It is suitable for roller and slide bearings even in mixed friction operation, and for joints, levers, sliding guides, spindles, spline shafts, open gears, worm gears, chains and wire cables, at all sliding speeds permitted for grease lubrication. The beige, silicone-free grease is based on mineral oil with a special calcium soap thickener, classified NLGI grade 1-2 (DIN 51502 KPL 1-2 E -25), with a temperature range of -25°C to +80°C, a dripping point above +100°C, a density of 0.94 g/cm3, a base-oil viscosity of 100 mm2/s at 40°C and a worked cone penetration of 285-315 1/10 mm. It shows no corrosion in the EMCOR test with 3% NaCl solution (DIN 51802), and the data sheet states compliance with MIL-PRF-85336B / MIL-PRF-24139A and German Bundeswehr TL 9150-0066 (NATO code G-460). Minimum shelf life is 24 months.
